Where to find us

Rice Lane City Farm is located at the end of Rawcliffe Road in Walton, Liverpool.  Our postcode is L9 1AW.  You can also enter from Hornby Road, the Dovegate is opposite the entrance to Walton Prison.

Driving

If arriving by car, enter Rawcliffe Road at the Rice lane end and drive to the far end, that is where you will find the Farm entrance.  There is also parking on Hornby Road opposite the entrance to Walton Prison, from where you can enter via the Dovegate. There is no on-site parking and we ask all visitors to please think of our neighbours and park considerately.

On the Bus

Coming from the North there is a bus stop just after Rice Lane train station, get off there and cross the road, walk all the way along Rawcliffe Road and you have arrived !

Coming from the city, get off at the stop AFTER Sainsburys and follow Rawcliffe Road as above.  Busses 68, 21,20,310 and 345 stop nearby, as do several others.

By train

Take either the Ormskirk or Kirkby lines  and get off the train at either Rice Lane, or Walton, respectively.

From Rice Lane station walk 200yds down the hill and turn right onto Rawcliffe Road, we are at the end.

From Walton station take the small footbridge behind the ticket office and cross the tracks, turn immediately right and follow that footpath to the end then turn right again.

DoveGate

After being vandalised and falling into disuse more than a decade ago, we are pleased to report that following a successful fundraising campaign the Dovegate was reopened in May 2022, this allows foot access from Hornby Road.  The Dovegate opens at (approximately) 10am and is closed at 3:15. This 15 minutes before the main site closed to the public.  Staff carry out animal movements between 3:30 and 4pm, when the gates are locked.
